Today we had two very special visitors, Adbi and his interpreter Emma. They delivered a fantastic assembly for the school on Deaf Awareness to promote the positive aspects of deafness and British Sign Language.
The children and staff alike, listened with respect and interest and even got to sign the alphabet!
We learned how to correctly attract the attention of a deaf person and even learned some signing including how to say  ‘thank you’.
But the main message that we all took away with us is what a wonderful language BSL is. Thank you to Abdi, a parent at our school, and Emma for educating us all.
